It all started in 1988 when…

Dr. Gail Counts followed her dreams of opening a veterinary clinic right here in Portsmouth Ohio. Dr. Gail opened her practice with only two exam rooms and very minimal support staff. It wasn’t long before her clientele grew, and so did her business. Shawnee Animal Clinic’s two exam room veterinary practice soon expanded to offer a total of four exam rooms. As the practice continued to flourish, Dr. Gail welcomed RVT, Tim Wells, as co-owner of SAC. The love our small town community had for the services provided by Shawnee Animal Clinic quickly led to yet another expansion, which brought our exam room total to eight. Dr. Gail and Tim Wells’ hard work and perseverance has proven to be one of the greatest assets to our small town Southern Ohio community. They continue to provide exceptional veterinary care to our pets and will continue to do so for years to come.
